Mythical beards: the beards we wish existed

Posted by

It’s no mistake when they call you a bearded god, you probably earned it if you’ve been growing and taking care of it for a while. We’ve known many great beards throughout history only by their representation through stories, art, and literature. And even though most of these beards are fictional we can’t help but admire and appreciate their majestic impact on us humans. Here are our three honorable mentions.

Zeus

From paintings to mosaics to written words, Zeus’ ultimate feature is his striking beard. No wonder he’s the god of gods. His beard is always floating, defying gravity, and setting the bar real high as to what our facial hairs can achieve.

King Arthur

There’s no doubt that King Arthur, amongst his many brave and daring exploits with the Knights of the Round Table, had limited time for and interest in shaving, and we don’t mind it one bit. Not only does the beard fit a true king, but it was a main factor to his intimidating and firm personality.

Gandalf

The father of all wizards and beards. He is the epitome of wisdom, the leader of the Fellowship of the Ring and the army of the West, and most importantly, the reason why we grow beards.

Which fictional character inspires your facial hair growth? We’d love to know!
