Traveling can be physically draining sometimes, let alone if you’re adding some grooming efforts to it. But good grooming during travels makes sure your beard and overall look stay fresh. For a man who’s on the road, here are a few cleanup habits you can incorporate into your routine while you’re away for work or vacation.

Wash
While you’re away, if you’re doing some hiking or something similar you need to wash your beard as often as you would wash your body. If you’re not doing something extreme you can wash it 3 times a week. Avoid harsh cleansers or regular shampoo, and be sure to use a premium quality beard soap that will be gentle on your beard and won’t dry it.
Invest
Getting a nice kit for your beard maintenance is a must. In most cases, it would be best to get beard kit that contains all the necessary products your facial hair needs whether you travel much or not. They’re easy to carry, efficient, and well… save your ass for when you have a bad “hair day”.
Your beard can’t protect all of your skin, and if you have some skin exposed in your beard, don’t forget to keep a scarf around your face for a cold weather, and don’t just carry it, wear it! Sun lotion is also necessary for those hot summer days.
This being said, a lot of men aren’t used to being exposed to all sorts of temperatures on a daily basis. You’ll have to be sure to remember that you’re going to need to change your maintenance routine for your beard if you’re going to be travel for a long time. It’s easy to forget to keep up with your beard maintenance when you’re backpacking. You’ll want to remember that it’s important to pay extra attention to your beard on every day of your trip. If you’re going to be in an especially humid area while you’re traveling, be sure to bring products to help you adjust accordingly.
