When you think of Santa Claus, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? His beard of course. It’s freakin’ cold!
With all that flying around the world and temperatures below 32 degrees in the North Pole, Santa’s beard keeps him warm. It also protects his skin from the cold and heavy winds. Needless to say, he must be using killer beard oils and balms to keep his facial hair from drying and breaking.
He’s a hipster
Santa’s been rocking a beard before it even became iconically fashionable to have one. As one of his most distinguished traits, there’s no way you could look at him the same without a beard.
Mrs Claus’ fetish
We all know Mrs. Claus needs those late night kisses after going away for some time. Luckily for her, Santa keeps his mustache wax in his pocket to keep the hairs out of his mouth. There’s nothing more attractive than a man taking good care of his lady by taking care of his mustache and his long beard.
He doesn’t wanna scare the kids
We already know that bearded men are perceived as wiser and safer to be around than others. Imagine anyone else creeping up on you, wouldn’t you freak out? Santa’s an exception though; he’s recognised by his beard, and everyone feels safe around him. No wonder kids jump on his lap for pictures! The beard invites them in!
He supports the cause
Knowing that November is men’s health awareness month, also known as Movember, Santa truly believes that there’s no harm in expanding the movement. He thinks that real men, such as himself, should keep their facial hair all year, and not just in November.
It’s his trademark
Santa’s beard is probably the most renowned facial fluff out there. Throughout the years, many fake descriptions of his looks were highlighted, but the one thing that remained constant in all of them was his beard. His most recognisable image was in Clement Clark Moore’s “Jolly Old Elf” : Father Christmas looked fascinating in a red cloak with glowing cheeks and a big fluffy white beard.
When he’s deep in thought
How do you think he’s gonna find out if you’ve been naughty or nice without scratching his beard? Do you think every kid who wrote to him saying that they’ve been nice actually were? Come on, we thought you knew him better than that. The long beard lets him think while he reads the millions of letters he receives from children all over the world.
He loves it
As simple as that. After years and years of hard work, Santa’s beard has been the loyal friend that never left his side. It was there before Mrs. Claus came into the picture, and even before the elves joined his team. Together they went through bad weather, screaming kids trying to snatch his beard from his face, glitter, and glue! So how can you expect him to let go of his precious facial hair?
He’s so busy
Santa goes out only one day a year, but he’s always busy managing his workshop and keeping up with who’s being naughty and who’s being nice. Do you expect him to shave and waste all that valuable time? Never! His beard saves him a lot of time because not only beards are easy to maintain, they look awesome.
