What is the difference between “Fakhameh” and “Rawa2”?
Fakhameh and Rawa2 are the scents of our products. The core product is the same, and both beard oil Fakhame and beard oil Rawa2, for example, have the same benefits. Fakhameh has a woodsy scent, Rawa2 is citrusy and fresh. Both are great! I personally like to use Rawa2 on some days and Fakhameh on other days, it all depends on my mood and what I feel like wearing.
BEARD CARE
Do I really need to use beard care products?
Short answer: Yes!
I know, you might be thinking “my beard is growing just fine, why should I use beard care products?”. The list of benefits for using beard care products is long but in brief, you need beard care products to properly maintain, nourish and style your facial hair. If you are not using beard care products, you probably do not have a healthy beard, your skin is probably dry, and a big percentage of your facial hair is split and broken. Please read the other questions and answers on this page to know when to use which product, and what are the exact benefits.
What is the difference between Beard Oil, Beard Balm, and Mustache Wax?
All three products complement each other.
You need beard oil to moisturize and nourish your facial hair and skin, give hair a nice shine, eliminate itching and dandruff, and prevent split hair.
You need beard balm to style your beard and lock the shape and style of your choice, train beard hair to grow into the right direction, while also nourishing it and nourishing your skin underneath.
You need mustache wax to style your mustache and nourish it, but also to style your beard if you have a thick and long beard.
When should I use the Beard Oil and how to apply it?
You should use your beard oil on a daily basis, in the morning, and optionally at night one hour before you go to bed. The best time to apply is after a shower, because then your beard is soft and clean, and to give your skin and hair some moisture back because they lose natural oil during shower. Be careful, water can prevent some of the oil from being absorbed, this is why your beard hair should be somehow dry before applying the oil. Here’s how to apply it:
- Put few drops of oil in your palms, depending on how long your beard is and spread it equally in your both hands.
- Brush your beard hair with your fingers and palms
- Don’t forget your mustache and the hair around your mouth
- Make sure to rub the oil into your facial skin too
- Use a quality beard comb or brush to evenly distribute the oil across your beard while also setting the hairs back in place.
When should I use the Beard Balm and how to apply it?
You should use your beard Balm on a daily basis too, whenever you want to style your beard, because not only it is a great styling agent, but also it is a great beard moisturizer and conditioner and will make beards look thicker. The best time to apply is 10 to 20 minutes after you apply the beard oil because then your beard is soft and ready to absorb all the goodies in the balm. Here’s how to apply it:
- Scrape out some balm and rub it in your hand palms so it is spread equally in your both hands.
- Brush your beard hair with your fingers and palms.
- Don’t forget your mustache and the hair around your mouth
- Make sure to rub the balm into your facial skin too.
- Use a quality beard comb or brush to evenly distribute the balm across your beard
- Style your beard with your hands to give it a look that fits your style.
When should I use the Mustache Wax and how to apply it?
Mustache wax is an amazing tool to help you keep your mustache in style and food free. If this is your first time to use a hard wax, then you will probably fail to apply it, because it is not similar to traditional creams that you can dip your finger into. Here’s how to proceed
- Use the back of your thumbnail to scrape off some wax.
- Transfer the wax to your index, and rub it with your two index fingers until it is soft.
- Apply the wax to your mustache with both hands, with a soft movement from the center to the end of your stache, so you train the hair to grow in the right direction
- Comb your mustache with a mustache comb to distribute the wax evenly.
- Repeat whenever needed.
If you are looking for a natural look, do not use a big amount of wax, and don’t twist the ends. Some like to blow dry the mustache on a high heat to blend the wax in. I personally do not do it. If you want the handlebar look, you’ll need to apply more product and twist the edge hairs into a point. Depending on the length of your stache, you may want to grab the hair at the base as you twist so you don’t rip out any mustache hairs.
Can I use any shampoo to wash my beard?
Regular hair shampoo will, unfortunately, strip sebum oil from your skin. so that it does not make your hair look greasy, but your beard actually needs these natural oils to be able to grow in a healthy way. That’s where beard soaps come in. A quality beard soap will not contain any harsh chemicals and will give your beard just the right amount of wash, cleanliness, and moisture. Our cold-processed Bou Shanab Beard Soap will keep your beard healthy and soft without damaging the precious hairs.
Why is my beard itching and how to stop it?
The first two or three weeks of growing a beard might cause some itchiness, and that can be quite a bother. Good news, the itchiness will go away once your beard is long enough. The reason your beard is itching is that the hair is still short and hard. This will cause irritation and discomfort. Here is what you can do to go throw the annoying early stage smoothly:
- Clean your beard daily to remove any dead skin that is known to cause irritation by using a quality brush.
- Condition and moisturise your beard with beard oil, whenever needed.
- Use beard balm to train your beard hair to grow into the right direction, and to nourish your skin.
Soon, before you know it, the itching will go away.
Why do I need a beard brush?
Here’s the thing. Just like any beard tool, a boar bristle brush is necessary for your kit. A brush has countless benefits other than styling your beard. Throughout the day, your beard goes through many polluting elements, which is why the brush leaves it clean, and especially soft and straight if you make it a habit. The brush also clears any food residues and dandruff, and prevents hair breakage and frizz. Use the brush to also soften and straighten the hair, distribute the beard oil you apply equally on the beard, and to train hair to grow in the right direction. So make a habit to brush your beard on a daily basis.
Can I use any comb?
No. Please don’t. Avoid cheap plastic combs at any cost. These combs teeth will crack your beard as they go through your hair; a bad comb will result in more breakage in the hair and more split ends. Needless to say, having split ends means you will have to trim your beard more often.
Ideally, you should opt for wooden combs. First, they look fancier, but more importantly, they are soft on the hair and they do not generate any static like the cheap plastic combs. They also absorb the oil you apply and help you distribute it evenly on all your beard. Getting a high-quality comb, like our amazing wooden comb, will help you maintain a healthy beard because they are specifically designed to help you style your beard without any damage.
I want to grow a beard but I do not have enough hair, what can I do?
We first need to look at why you do not have enough hair. Are you still young? Is it genetics? Do you have any hormonal problems? Is your beard hair weak? If the problem is related to your genetics, there is not much you can do. However, if it’s not genetics, here are few tips that will help you grow a thicker beard:
- Determine the factor causing your skin not to produce enough hair. If you’re under 25 years old, you’re still young, have patience. If you notice that your beard is patchy and weak hair runs in the family, follow the below steps to try to manage it the best way possible.
- Do not shave, it’s a myth we busted a long time ago. Shaving will irritate your skin even further and the chances of growing broken hair are bigger.
- Let is grow, and start using beard oil and beard balm on a regular basis. In case your hair roots are weak, use our beard oil growth Bou 3adal. Formulated with natural ingredients, this oil will allow your hair to reach its maximum health potential for a fuller beard. In fact, Bou 3adal contains antioxidants, which will boost cells and encourage them to produce healthy hair.
How long does it take to grow a beard?
It doesn’t happen overnight and be sure that there are no magic potions. It actually depends on each person and their growth pace. Not only that, but you should know that not all hairs grow at the same speed. The average person’s hair grows a 1.5 centimetres per month. Therefore, and depending on the desired length, It takes between two months and few years to grow a full beard and reach the maximum length, depending on your genetics and of course, how well you take care of it.
How long does it take to grow a mustache?
Longer than a beard for sure. At first, your mustache will grow fast, and probably close to the pace of your beard; however, after a while, the process will start to slow down. Using a quality beard oil and a quality mustache wax will give the mustache the needed push to stay growing at a reasonable speed.
Can Beard Oil stop my skin from being itchy?
Heck yeah! Keeping your skin moisturised is the ultimate solution for an itchy skin. Hydrate your beard daily with Fakhameh or Rawa2; not only will this keep your beard hydrated, it will also soothe your skin and get rid of the inflammation. Compliment it with our Beard Soap as it helps reduce the itchiness, especially at the early growth phase of the beard.

What is beardruff?
The beard area is a common spot for dandruff because the hair shields the yeast from ultraviolet light, which normally would slow its growth. There is really no difference between the sort of dandruff on your head and the sort that pops up in your beard. It can start off as a minor beard itch, then the dryness spreads and soon you start noticing dead skin flakes all over your shoulders. Regularly using a quality beard oil to moisturize your skin will help you prevent it most of the times.
How to store my beard products?
It’s not complicated, but to be fair if your products take care of your beard it would only be gentleman-like to take of them in return. When it comes to your beard oil, make sure it’s preserved in a room temperature, and avoid exposing it to the heat and light of the sun. As for the beard balm, it contains shea butter and beeswax, all ingredients that have a tendency to melt under a certain temperature. The same applies for your mustache wax which contains a big amount of beeswax. Both these products can be carried in your pocket, but better keep them as cool as possible for optimal results on your hair.
