Are beards seasonal?

Posted by

Asking this questions leads to a more straightforward interrogation we know you’re going to ask us: If beards are seasonal, does this mean I have to eventually shave it after all the hard work? Our answer is also direct: no. You just have to adapt your grooming routine accordingly. Just like beards are not a trend, they are also not seasonal. Keep reading as we explain to you why.

You’ve definitely noticed that some of your grooming habits change a little with every season. We’ve already talked about how a beard is not only sexy, but practical too. During the cold season and with temperatures dropping, it keeps you warm, and during summer protects you from UV lights and sunburn.

Some tips for the cold weather:

  • No need for a lot of hot water; a lot of it will strip your beard of its natural oils. Dry it well after you’re done washing it to avoid damage from the minerals in the water.
  • Moisturize, even if it’s the last thing you’ll do in life! You already know that you shouldn’t use the shampoo more that once or twice a week, but you always need to moisturize in the cold weather up to 4 times a week with a beard oil and balm
  • Talk to your barber and have a little trim. Once a beard hair splits, the damage is done, and leaving it will result it in splitting down to the follicle and falling out.

Some tips for the hot weather:

  • Beard sweat is a natural process you’ll face during summer season. For that, we recommend using beard shampoo to cleanse any blocked-up pores that may occur due to sweating.
  • Combing is your best friend, but don’t get too carried away. The sun and the chlorine from the swimming pool can hurt the hairs, so keep a brush with you to de-tangle the stubborn hairs that could be tired from the heat, and use balm as it doesn’t have an oily residue that could irritate you if it’s getting hot.
  • Stay hydrated and drink lots of water. Summer is the season of dehydration which causes hair to grow brittle and prone to breakage.
  • Trimming is also perfect during summer season, especially if you’re experiencing irritation.
  • Use a citrusy beard oil, instead of a heavy one. Needless to say, our Rawa2 oil would be perfect!

There you have it guys! A beard is meant to stay on your face all year long; you just need to proper guidance to manage it. And we’ve got your back… or… beard!
