How to shampoo your beard: beard shampoo vs regular shampoo

Posted by

We often get messages from our current and new customers asking how to help prevent itchiness and dry skin under the beard. Whilst we recommend they use our premium quality beard oil and soap, we’ve been recently advising that the first step of taking care of facial hair happens in the shower with none other than beard shampoo.

How to Wash

You should start by wetting your beard using warm water, which makes the shower the best place to wash your beard.   Use your fingertips to apply the beard shampoo and massage deeply in the beard so that you can reach the skin. You should do this to ensure that your skin is clean and properly hydrated.

Rinsing

Very hot water can dry your skin so warm water is the best option to rinse off the excess foam. Cold water does no harm but we need to remind you that warm water opens the skin pores which is what you need for when you apply beard oil, to make sure your skin and hairs absorb it.

Drying

Once you have finished washing your beard, you should dry it completely because you can have some irritation on the skin or an old humid smell if any water is left in your beard. The best way is to pat using a clean towel or a cotton shirt you’re not wearing. Be gentle as to avoid pulling your hairs and irritating the skin.

Which beard shampoo?

3ayb ya sheikh, we’re proud of our products, especially our latest shampoo! Needless to say, It is cold processed,  and we use manually extracted laurel oil from the South of Lebanon (zeit ghar), a premium oil traditionally known to boost hair growth and prevent excessive hair loss. It also helps to moisturize the scalp which will help you avoid a flaky skin. As for the scent, we went for the loyal 3oud aroma.

Are you ready for a much healthier facial hear? Then start washing!
